Hey there. For the past couple of years, I’ve been navigating a lot of physical challenges. Some of it stems from a foot injury where I tore the fascia, and other parts are just the natural evolution of how my body moves now. My hips lock up when I sit too long. My legs stiffen up. It sometimes takes me twenty to thirty steps just to loosen up and move freely again.
But I don’t quit. I’ve never quit. And I’m not going to start now.
I’m heading back to physical therapy this month and I’m grateful that I get to work with the same therapist I trust. I’m also adapting my workouts. I’ve been using machines more, doing isolation work for my legs, and pairing that with mobility exercises. I’m focused on longevity now... not chasing PRs or trying to get back to where I was a few years ago.
Even when I went to do dumbbell deadlifts this morning and my legs locked up on me, I didn’t back off. I adjusted. I kept going. Because I don’t want my body to fail me and I’m not going to let it. That’s the mindset I take into every part of my life right now.
My eating has evolved too. It started a year ago when Heather and I got back from the beach. I just didn’t want to eat out as much. So I cooked more. I didn’t cut out foods. I didn’t restrict. I just started building a plan that made sense for my life. Most of my meals now are eaten at home and I really enjoy what I eat. It’s satisfying and it supports my goals.
Your Level Fitness is built around these experiences. Real life. Real adjustments. What I talk about here isn’t about fixing your body... it’s about appreciating it. It’s about meeting yourself where you are and building something sustainable. The YLF community is about doing the health and fitness stuff while also learning to value yourself as you are right now.
This is about building from the inside/out. You’ve got to eat. You’ve got to move. You’ve got to manage your life. But how you approach all of that makes the biggest difference.
And no matter what changes... I’m not stopping.
